A little bit far away

Driving on “ Le Gois “ is a very special experience. This road (about 4 km) from Beauvoir sur Mer to the island of Noirmoutier is only possiblee at low tide. Take care. Every year, more than 50 cars are flooded by sea water, You can reach or leave the island by the bridge at flood-tide, just check on the tide calendar. Noirmoutier is a beautiful island, about 40 km from Brétignolles, with the famous beach “Plage des Demoiselles “and a beautiful Sealand-aquarium.

In Les Sables d’Olonne, you can see how salt is extracted from salt water, visit the zoo and take a canoeing trip on the local canals.

For golfers there is the 18-hole golf course “Golf des Fontenelles “at l’Aiguillon sur Vie, about 15 km away.

For a day trip why not take the boat, to Ile d’Yeu. The best way to discover this small island is to hire a bicycle.

Visit “La Folie de Finfarine “with your children, you will discover everything about bees and honey in a marvellous park.

Make a rally (in English) in the park of “Château de la Guignardière “or be a part of the spectacle in “Château de Talmont “, an old fort of the British king Richard Lionheart.

Enjoy a guided trip trough the “ Marais poitevin “, also called “ Green Venice “, a marshland of 35.000 acres.

Le Puy du Fou (90 km) is a large fun park, with a lot of activities and displays by horses and birds of prey.
